For Bob Moore, it all started with a kernel of truth—a wheat kernel, that is. Back in the 1960s, Bob’s wife, Charlee, decided that she would feed her family nutritious whole grains, starting with an incredible loaf of whole wheat bread fresh from the oven. From the very beginning, Bob and Charlee focused on people over profit: their mission was to provide wholesome food to their customers, build close relationships with farmers and suppliers, and treat their employees with generosity and respect. Bob’s Red Mill is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. People are the most valuable part of our company. The collective sum of the individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, self-expression, unique capabilities and talent that our employees bring to their work impacts and improves our culture, reputation and overall success. Our beautiful stone grinding mills are much like the ones used during early Roman times. Unlike high-speed steel rollers, our quartz millstones ensure the most nutritious parts of the whole grain remain, so we can pack wholesome goodness right into your bag. Because the millstones grind at a slow speed and cool temperature, the inherent nutrients and flavor of our grains are preserved .
